Spreadsheets

Students were taught a little bit about the heart and its functions. They also learned about the different types of exercises and their benefits. Once they finished their activities they were shown how to document their data on a spreadsheet. They took class averages of all their activities then compared the differences between different exercises.

I would change the lesson a little bit to fit the needs of the people that I will be educating in my area by adding more information. The people that I will be educating will be much older and should have more common knowledge than a sixth grader. I would first add more about a diet plan and eating healthy. Once I talked about those benefits I would relate them to the health of the heart. Once I talked about that I would go into exercising and the different types. I like how they documented their heart rates because that gives the student a chance to actually see results.
